Special visitors from Tirohia School. Paeroa, spend a day with MLPS Junior School: A Special Assembly, Shared Lunch and classroom visits were a wonderful opportunity to share our large (450 plus students) city school - Marshall Laing's with 25 children from a rural school.

Term 2 Green Day
Room 3 harvest our successful coriander planting. We look forward to new planting in spring 2011.

Room 3 participated in the MLPS Annual Cross-Country event. William, Maire, Ahmad and Muhmed won places for the Year 1 event.

Thanks to Guliana, who chose to help for two weeks in Room 3 as part of her work experience.

New Potatoes

On Monday the 30th of May, Mrs Ebsworth helped us to cook the new potatoes from our garden
Mrs Ebsworth set up the equipment:
An element
A cooking pot
A knife and board
Salt
We cut the potatoes into small pieces. Then we put some water in the pot and added the salt. Next we put the pot on the hot stove element. Mrs Ebsworth watched the pot heating. The lid was rumbling and smoke (steam) was coming from the pot. When the potatoes were cool, we ate a little piece each. Yum!
